We rescue dogs from North Carolina shelters. Once in our care, we address any health or behavioral concerns in order to match each dog with their perfect family. Adopting a dog that has been rescued from a shelter is equivalent to saving two lives. Every dog that goes home to a wonderful family leaves space for us to pull another valuable life out of a shelter. It is indeed a win-win situation!
These dogs are all looking for a family to love!
Before you adopt
As you search for your new best friend, be flexible, listen to your heart and your head, and know that sometimes our furry friends pick us! Check out Petfinder’s adoption checklist, for more things to consider in your search for your new best friend!
Find your match
Browse our dogs online! If there is a particular dog you are interested in meeting, contact us! We want to help you find the dog that is perfect for you. Our dogs live in private foster homes, therefore each foster can give you great information about their foster dog. If you find a dog that you would like to meet, contact us to inquire about getting to know your possible forever friend!
If you think you have found your perfect match and your application has been approved, spend the week living with your dog to make sure it’s a match made in heaven! At the end of the week, you decide on whether or not to finalize the adoption.
Completing the adoption
After completing the one week trial adoption, you may elect to finalize the adoption, or return the dog to the foster. If you learn during the trial adoption that your home may not be the best fit for the dog you selected, then the adoption fee will be returned at the time the dog is transferred back into rescue. If you discover that you have met the dog of your dreams, then consider the adoption final, as the adoption agreement and fee was collected at the time the trial adoption began!
During the adoption trial period, please refrain from feeding the dog food, treats, or chews that are manufactured in China. If the label states that the food is “distributed by,” it is likely made in China. These foods and treats are dangerous. Foods produced in the US are labeled Made in the USA. Foods produced in Canada and the EU are strictly regulated as well. Australia and New Zealand maintain the tightest control over food production, however those foods are very expensive. Consumers have become educated on the difference because of the health issues stemming from foods and treats produced in China.
Lastly, we do not allow our dogs to have raw hide because it’s not easily digestible and can become lodged, thus requiring surgery for removal.
